The realization set in while teaching high school English and Creative Writing that students of Warren County and nearby would be greatly served by a combination writers' collective and after school arts program designed to encourage interest in the arts, nurture existing talent and provide an environment for artistic expression. This realization continues even as writing and publishing poetry  and completion of a post-secondary degree program maintains its prominent place at the top of the TO-DO list.

As exciting as is the prospect of artists of all kinds formally gathering to share, guide, nurture and express their creativity to the communities of Warrenton and greater Warren County, and particularly to its young people in need of an outlet, some of the elements required for a project of this nature are easier to acquire than others.  For example, ideas as to how to successfully incorporate the Artist Market into area culture and the mindsets of students are in abundance even as an equal measure of monetary resources to support these ideas has yet to be realized.

An ongoing project to recreate a house exterior and its interior set of rooms into a mural, gallery and workspace for both professional, practicing and beginning artists is developing steadily at a pace all set to quicken as word of the Artist Market’s existence and purpose continues to spread and participation grows.

Along with much appreciation to those who have already selflessly given of their time, skills and talents, those who gave from their wallets for purchase and/or donation and those who offered and provided other forms of assistance is a request for support from those of you who believe as we do that without the arts, a student’s education is incomplete. We welcome your presence, your participation and your support.  Hope to see you soon and often.

The Warren Artist Market Story Begins . . .
